ذهنیت و زاویه دید، کتابی از استاد علی صفایی حائری در باره نقد ادبی و همچنین نقد ادبیات داستانی ایران است.

این اثر پیش از این در کتاب پنج جلدی «روش نقد» استاد حائری، که جلد دوم آن به ادبیات و هنر اختصاص دارد، چاپ شده است. آنچه در این اثر مورد توجه است ارائه میزان و معیار ثابتی برای نقد است که تحت تأثیر شرایط گوناگون گرفتار کش و قوس نشود و بتواند در برابر موقعیت‌های مختلف امکان موضع‌گیری‌های مناسب را فراهم کند.

از نقد‌های این کتاب می‌توان به نقد داستان‌های سووشون سیمین دانشور، سمفونی مردگان و سال بلوای عباس معروفی، آدم‌های غایب تقی مدرسی و کلیدر محمود دولت‌آبادی اشاره کرد.

در بخشی از نقد داستان سمفونی مردگان، اثر عباس معروفی می‌خوانید:

«این داستان، داستان ۴۵ سال زندگی است، که اورهان در هنگام مرگ ۴۰ سال دارد و آیدین و یوسف، به ترتیب دو سال تفاوت دارند و ناچار زندگی این خانواده در ۴۵ سالی که از ۱۳۱۰ آغاز شده ـ چون در سال ۱۳۲۰ یوسف نه ـده ساله بوده است ـ و به سال‌های ۱۳۵۵ ختم می‌شود، بررسی می‌شود.

این داستان به جریان‌های تاریخی نمی‌پردازد و داستان را از آخر، از گفت‌وگوی ایاز پاسبان که نمی‌تواند روی صندلی جا بگیرد، با اورهان حسابگر، که نمی‌تواند برادر دیوانه و دختر او را تحمل کند، آغاز می‌شود. و سپس از زبان سوم شخص و از ذهن سورمه و آیدین دیوانه و اورهان کابوس گرفته، باز می‌شود.

این داستان با این‌که از چند زبان و ذهن تکرار می‌شود، ولی مکرر نیست، که هرکدام جزیی از حوادث را می‌گویند و در نتیجه مثل رمان «رازهای سرزمین من» زیادی و مکرر چندانی ندارد. و شاید این به خاطر روشی باشد که «معروفی» دنبال کرده.»
